Mentee for a project investigating industrial symbiosis potential for the construction industry, the student investigated the current methods and future potential of circularity in concrete. 

Joseph continued his education at Alfred State College after years of industry experience ranging from a concrete truck driver to a crane operator in NYC, and will be adding to these experiences with an internship at Turner Construction.

Mentee for a project implementing a decision analysis for natural disaster temporary housing design options from a stakeholder perspective, and evaluating US mitigation funding from a housing assistance perspective. Overall, the mentorship experience lasted for a period of 1 year.

Awards and Honors:

Mohamed won third place for both his poster and oral presentations at the annual SSMV competition for his work on the temporary housing decision model!

Currently ranked number one in his graduating class!
